Veterinary Technicians

Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) in Oklahoma play a vital in veterinary care, they aren't veterinarians, but they are the only non-veterinarian medical professionals that can be certified in the state to work on animals.
While many RVTs function in a similar manner to veterinary assistants in most veterinary practices, they have made a career commitment to the profession and have completed a minimum of two years education and graduated from a university with at least an associate's degree.
This commitment and level of education allows them to be more active in your pets medical care and compliments the knowledge and experience of the veterinarian.
Additionally, the Veterinary Practice Act in Oklahoma allows Registered Veterinary Technicians to perform specific activities in veterinary care that veterinary assistants and other non-certified individuals are precluded from.
